Women's Tennis falls in final Florida match to Wis.-Eau Claire

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Salisbury University women's tennis team concluded its spring trip against the Wisconsin Eau-Claire Blugolds but stumbled 8-1 on Wednesday.



  • Veronica Cuellar won a marathon three-setter over Clare Palen in first singles. Cuellar collected a 7-5 win in the first set but dropped the second set 6-4 to Palen. Cuellar outlasted Palen in the third set, 12-10.
  • Sarah Dover also battled in a marathon three-set match in second singles with Sam Fuchs. Dover and Fuchs traded the first two sets but Fuchs was able to get the win in the third set, 2-6, 6-3, 10-5.
  • Dover and Elizabeth Christine as well Sarah Cooper and Hannah Carter fell in close matches in second and third doubles.


  • The Sea Gulls return home on Wednesday, March 30 to face the St. Mary's Seahawks.
  • The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
