ORLANDO, Fla. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to the Luther Norse to open its spring break trip at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Katherine Tamesis and Veronica Cuellar earned a pair of wins in singles and doubles. As a team, Tamesis and Cuellar secured an 8-5 win over Shelby Cook and Natalia Smith in first doubles.
- Cuellar battled to win a three-setter in first singles. Cuellar and Sofia Sackett traded the first two sets before Cuellar overcame the second-set loss to earn the 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 victory.
- Tamesis also outlasted a three-set match in third singles to pick up a point for SU. Tamesis recorded the 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 victory over Cook.
- Salisbury continues the spring trip on Monday against the William Smith Herons.
