NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2020 season with a 5-4 victory over Millsaps on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury opened the day with two doubles wins. Veronica Cuellar and Annika Kezman took down Grace Gaskins and M.K. Clayton in No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
- Sydney Soto and Katherine Tamesis secured an 8-6 win in the No. 3 matchup over Morgan Jenkins and Jillian Sandoz.
- In singles action, Soto won a three-set thriller in No. 4 singles over Camille Fremaux. Soto and Fremaux traded wins in the first two sets before Soto won the third-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (6).
- Laura Brown and Hannah Baxter collected sweeps in No. 3 and No. 6 matches to help Salisbury pick up the first win of the year.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is Salisbury's third consecutive season-opening win.

- Salisbury will be back in action tomorrow with two matches in the Eagle Indoor Invitational against Methodist and Franklin & Marshall.
