SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory against Harford Community College on Wednesday afternoon at the SU Tennis Center.
The Sea Gulls (10-4) picked up the first three points in doubles play, beginning with an 8-0 win at No. 3 by senior Taylor Cooper and freshman Sarah Dover. Salisbury's next point came by retirement, with junior Annika Kezman and sophomore Laura Brown holding a 2-1 lead against Maria Ray and Noemi Aguirre, the Fighting Owl (0-9) pair was forced to retire due to injury.
Schaefer and Kezman secured the team win with the first two singles wins in the books. Schaefer won by a 6-1, 6-2 score at No. 3 singles while Kezman took the No. 1 match 6-3, 6-3.
Brown closed out the match moments later, at No. 2, with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
The Sea Gulls take to the courts again on Sunday, April 14 hosting Stevenson University at 10:30 a.m., and No. 24 Christopher Newport University at 2 p.m.
