PISCATAWAY, N.J. –The Salisbury University men's and women's swim wrapped up the Metropolitan Swimming and Diving Conference (METS) Championships on Sunday with two new program records in the 200-yard fly.
Women's Final Score: Salisbury 7th: 342 points
Men's Final Score: Salisbury 8th: 297 points
HOW IT HAPPENED
Christopher Knorr led the Sea Gulls with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard fly. Knorr broke the school record in the preliminary round of the 200-yard fly with a time of 1:56.36.
Matthew Arter qualified for the 200-yard back. He finished in 17th place with a personal-best time of 1:56.21. Alexander Harkowa qualified for the finals in the 200-yard fly. He finished in 20th place with a personal best time of 2:19.79. Nathan Braun and Austin Thielke both qualified for the finals in the 1,650-yard free.
Jordan DeGruchy also had a record-setting day in the 200-yard fly. DeGruchy broke the program record in the preliminary round, then broke her own record in the finals with a time of 2:12.97. DeGruchy also owns the school records in the 50-yard fly and the 100-yard fly.
Olivia Totaro qualified for the finals in the 1,650-yard free. She finished 10th with a time 18:29.15. Daisy Holder qualified for the finals in two events. Holder finished 18th in the 1650-yard free and 22nd in the 200-yard back with a personal best time of 2:22.26.
