
SALISBURY, Md. - In the second matchup of the season, the second-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team topped the Rowan Profs, 18-6, in a rain-soaked, non-conference game at Sea Gull Stadium on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Salisbury scored the first two goals of the game off an unassisted strike from Lydia McNulty and Erin Scannell's free position goal to take the early 2-0 lead three minutes into the contest.

The Profs scored the team's lone goal of the half on a free-position opportunity from Julia Gricla to cut the Sea Gull lead in half at the 23:34 mark in the first.

The Sea Gulls answered the Rowan goal with a twelve-goal run that began with an unassisted goal by Alexis Strobel with 19:14 remaining in the half.

Riley Hartman tallied her first goal of the day off a Strobel pass to extend the lead, 5-1 with 15:43 remaining in the first half.

After being fouled, Anna Robinson added another Sea Gull goal off a free position to extend the lead, 6-1 over the Profs.

Delaney Hill buried a free-position shot to score her first goal of the day with 11:02 remaining in the half.

To round out the half, the Sea Gulls added three more goals coming from Strobel, Hill, and Hartman, who completed the hat trick, to extend the lead 13-1 going into the second half.

To start the second half, the Sea Gulls scored the twelfth unanswered goal when Ella Mannix received a pass from Caroline Knight to push the SU lead to 14-1 two minutes into the second half.

Rowan ended the Salisbury onslaught with a three-goal run from Elise Cohan, Johanna Diehl, and Ashley Lechliter to trim the Salisbury lead to 14-3.

Salisbury responded to Rowan's run with a four-goal flurry. The run started with Camryn Pepper's unassisted goal with 11:07 remaining in the game.

Robinson completed the hat trick with an unassisted tally that extended the lead 16-4 with 6:35 remaining.

Mary Hanzsche had a hand in the next two Sea Gull goals. She buried a shot from a Robinson assist with just under five minutes to go in regulation. Less than a minute later, Hanzche assisted on the 18th Sea Gull goal scored by Meridith Price.

Rowan ended the scoring with two goals coming from Lechliter and Erin Renshaw who scored off a Shannen Sterner assist to secure the final score, 18-6.
SALISBURY GAME NOTES

Anna Robinson and Riley Hartman led the team with three goals each for their first hat tricks of the season. Robinson set a new career-high in goals while Hartman matched her personal best.

Ella Mannix and Meridith Price both tallied their first collegiate goals in the maroon and gold.
