
SALISBURY, Md.- Alexis Strobel tallied ten points to help the fifth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team collect a 14-8 win over the 10th-ranked TCNJ Lions on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

TCNJ got the first tally of the game off a free-position goal from Veronika O'Donne.

A minute after the TCNJ goal, the Sea Gulls would answer with two of their own both off assists from Alexis Strobel as she found Erin Scannell and Camryn Pepper to take the 2-1 lead.

Jennifer LaRoccia ended the Sea Gull run with a score to tie the game at two with 25:06 remaining in the game.

Salisbury went on another two-goal run with Strobel leading the way with a goal and an assist on a Lydia McNulty goal to give SU the lead, 4-2.

Jillian Westerby added her first goal for TCNJ off a Katherine Naiburg assist to cut the Sea Gull lead in half, 4-3 with 17:56 remaining in the first half.

McNulty and Delaney Hill each netted free-position goals within a minute of each other to allow the Sea Gulls to double up the Lions, 6-3, halfway through the first half.

Naiburg and LaRoccia connected for TCNJ's fourth goal of the game to cut the Salisbury lead 6-4 with 12:21 remaining on the clock.

Scannell ended the scoring for the first half with two goals after an individual effort and a free position chance to give the Sea Gulls the 9-5 lead going into the second half.

TCNJ scored the first two goals coming out of the break, both on free-position chances from Westerby and Anna Wright to cut the SU lead down to 9-7.

Salisbury answered back with three goals in a row. The first coming shorthanded on a Julie Talbert goal at the 17:41 mark in the second half. Then, Scannell scored twice all off Strobel assists to extend the lead 12-7 with 12:30 left in the game.

Westerby tallied a man-up goal to round out TCNJ's scoring with 10:12 remaining to trim the lead to 12-8.

Strobel and Talbert both tallied their second goals of the game to complete the game's scoring to secure the 14-8 win over No. 10 TCNJ.
