BALTIMORE, Md. – Inside Lacrosse released the 2020 Maverik Women's Division III Media All-Americans on Friday. Junior Alexis Strobel earned a spot on the third team while seniors Kendall Bannan, Gianna DeMato, and Skye Graham took spots on the honorable mention list.
Strobel earned a place on the third team after a great showing in the abbreviated season Over the five-game span, Strobel tallied seven goals and dished out 13 assists for 20 points. It is the second time Strobel collected All-American honors after she was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Third Team last season.
DeMato earned her first All-American honor after recording 13 goals on 24 shots with 17 being on goal for a 70.8 goals-against average. DeMato also dished five assists for a total of 18 points in just five games. Along with being a go-to scorer for the Sea Gulls, DeMato also recorded 18 draw controls and collected three ground balls.
Bannan and Graham were leaders of the Salisbury defense during the 2020 season. Bannan notched 10 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and secured four draw controls in five games of the 2020 season. Graham recorded 27 saves and collected three wins in net. Graham's active play out of the crease led her to collect nine ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Salisbury ended the shortened 2020 season as the seventh-ranked team in the nation, according to the IWLCA coaches' poll.
