SALISBURY, Md. – Another strong outing from junior pitcher Lindsey Windsor and a seven-run fourth inning was enough to send the fourth-ranked Salisbury University softball team to its 10th NCAA Championship appearance with a 7-0 shutout over the Mount St. Joseph Lions on Saturday in the Salisbury Super Regional.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lindsey Windsor got out of a two runners-on jam in the bottom of the third inning by forcing Kelsi Stevenson to end the threat and keep the game scoreless.
• Salisbury took advantage of an MSJ error with two outs to get push across seven runs in the fourth.
• Sydney Duplissey legged out a bobble by the MSJ third baseman to score Madi Lemon from third with the bases loaded. A batter later, Francesca Cuttitta blooped a two-run single to shallow left to score Maddison Lednum and Lauren Meyers. Abby Mace followed a two-run triple to right field that plated Cuttitta and Duplissey.
• Windsor broke the game open with a two-run home run down the left-field line that pushed the Salisbury lead to 7-0 in the fourth.

SALISBURY GAME NOTES

• Francesca Cuttitta, Lindsey Windsor and Abby Mace each drove in a pair of runs.
• Mace hit her seventh triple of the season and eighth of her career.
• Windsor pitched her seventh shutout of the season to collect her 18th win of the year. She struck out two and scattered four hits and two walks.
• Salisbury pushed its NCAA-leading home winning streak to 55 games.

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH GAME NOTES

• Kelsi Stevenson, Rachel Gabbard, Elizabeth Ivers and Emily McDonald tallied a hit apiece for the Lions with McDonald hitting a double in the fifth.
• Kamryn McCool took the loss and allowed seven unearned runs in 3.2 innings.
