SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team ranked first in College Athletic Advisor's Top 10 Programs that inspire.
Salisbury was recognized from a group of over 350 four-year men's lacrosse programs in NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and the NAIA.
Rankings for the "Programs That Inspire" list were based on a subjective assessment of student experience in the holistic development of student-athletes in the institution; academic achievement and support for the academic success of student-athletes; overall college experience for participants within the program; and affordability, graduation rates and student satisfaction.
Although College Athletic Advisor's list is subjective, the organization believes these rankings "present an informed starting point for a discussion about where student-athletes can excel as 'triple-threat' competitors (academics, athletics, and socially) in college and in their future lives."
Under the direction of the NCAA men's lacrosse all-time winningest coach, Jim Berkmanin his 33rd season, Salisbury won the NCAA's biggest prize 12 times along with 22 Capital Athletic Conference Championships. Salisbury has qualified for 36 NCAA tournaments with 26 appearances in the NCAA Final Four. The program has an extensive roladex of leaders with 11 National Players of the Year, 51 National Position Players of the Year and five National Coach of the Year awards. The maroon and gold collected accolades both on-and-off the field earning 257 All-Americans and 21 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-Americans.
