YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's basketball dropped a road Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) matchup on Wednesday to the York Spartans, 91-71.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salisbury held the lead in the early goings. After three straight threes by Mike Ward, Gary Briddell and D'Angelo Tull, the Sea Gulls jumped out to a 16-9 lead six minutes into the game.
- York tied the game at 19 when Jared Wagner made a three-pointer with 10:33 on the first-half clock.
- Cameron Heard responded on the ensuing possession with a jumper at the free-throw line to give Salisbury the 21-19 lead.
- After an and-one by Wagner put York ahead 22-21 at the 10 minute mark in the game, York stretched its lead to 51-28 after a 29-7 scoring run.
- Ward's back-to-back baskets that sandwiched a David Giuliani layup cut the York lead down to 20 heading to the halftime break.
- The York lead pushed to as much as 26 in the early moments of the secind half but Salibsury battled back to cut the deficit to 75-62 with 6:50 left in the game behind a 21-8 scoring run capped off by a Heard three-pointer.
- York kept the Salisbury run at bay as the Spartans took the conference win.
GAME NOTES
- Two players tallied double figures for Salisbury led by Gary Briddell. Briddell notched a team-best 18 points along seven rebounds.
- Mike Ward tallied 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.
- Johnny Fierstein pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds and added eight points along with three assists.
- J.P. Krotulis, Lucas Martin, and Devin Garrett all notched seven points. Garrett pulled down four rebounds.
- Jared Wagner led York with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
- Salisbury shot 40.9 percent (27-66) from the floor compared to York's 50.0 percent (32-64).
