BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Quarter

  • After forcing a Kean three-and-out to open the game, Michael Fowler opened the scoring for Salisbury with a 10-yard touchdown run.
  • Kean responded with a 26-yard field goal from Logan Matthews to cut the Salisbury lead to 7-3.
  • On the next Kean drive, Sam Pavlick forced a Jessey Azare fumble at the Kean 30-yard line, the ball was recovered by Josh Adewumi and returned for a 21-yard touchdown to push Salisbury lead up to 14-3 near the end of the first quarter.

Second Quarter

  • On the first Salisbury offensive series of the quarter after a 25-yard punt return by Chad Gleason and a personal foul penalty put Salisbury on the Kean 10-yard line to start the drive, Bert Schrecongost would nail a 30-yard field goal to extend Salisbury's lead to 17-3.
  • After a Kean missed field goal and four plays after a 32-yard run by Fowler, Gleason would bookend the drive with a 20-yard touchdown run in the middle part of the second quarter.
  • Hunter Cleaver would score back-to-back touchdowns in the latter parts of the second. Jack Lanham would connect with Cleaver for a 55-yard touchdown catch. After another long punt return by Gleason, Cleaver scampered past the goal line from 20-yards out to put Salisbury ahead 38-3 heading into halftime.

Third Quarter

  • Lanham would find Octavion Wilson to open the second half with a 13-yard touchdown reception.
  • Kean would find themselves deep in Salisbury territory on their first drive of the second half. Looking to get their first touchdown of the game, Sam Pagella would intercept Anthony Broccoletti's pass and return it 85 yards for mark 45 unanswered points for Salisbury.
  • Tyrae Taylor would score Kean's first touchdown of the game with 4:28 left in the third on a one-yard quarterback sneak. However, the extra point was blocked by Joseph Manso.
  • Salisbury responded quickly with a 75-yard kick return by Troy Garrett to allow the Sea Gulls to start their drive in the Kean red-zone. Raekwon McCarter would put Salisbury back up 49 points, 58-9, with just over a minute left in the quarter.

Fourth Quarter

  • Jacob Philip extended Salisbury's lead to 65-9 on their first possession of the fourth on a 13-yard touchdown run.
